This privacy policy explains what the forms on WaterTreatmentChemicals.net collect, why, who receives a quote request and how to see, correct or delete your data. The site is an independent reference on water treatment chemicals for operators, engineers and utilities, and it sells no chemical, so it takes no payment and stores no card or bank data.
Reading the site requires no account, no login and no form. Every reference page is served as a static page, and personal data enters the site only when you type it into one of its own forms. The controller of that data is the publisher of WaterTreatmentChemicals.net, reachable at editorial@watertreatmentchemicals.net. The site uses no analytics, works with no advertising vendor and sets no tracking cookie. Form submissions are kept for 24 months.
What Data Do the WaterTreatmentChemicals.net Forms Collect?#
The site collects only what you type into one of its forms, plus the page you sent it from and the time. The site has three forms: the contact and corrections form, the program quote form and the chemical quote form.
Each submission is stored with two pieces of metadata: the source page (the address of the page where you opened the form) and the submission time. The site records no payment data, no account password and no location beyond the delivery country or site location you choose to enter in a quote request. Fields marked optional, such as your name on the contact form, can stay empty.
Table 1 compares the four forms by the fields you enter, the metadata stored, the purpose and whether the data leaves the site.
| Form | Fields you enter | Stored with | Purpose | Leaves the site? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Contact and corrections (/contact/) |
email, name (optional), message type, page, message | source page, time | answer your message or correct a page | no |
| water treatment program quote | email, company, site type, system, size, location, current provider, problem | source page, time | quote from independent providers | yes, to independent providers |
| Request quotes for water treatment chemicals | email, company, chemical, grade or strength, NSF/ANSI/CAN 60 need, volume and packaging, delivery country | source page, time | quote from independent suppliers | yes, to independent suppliers |
| Newsletter (not offered at launch) | source page, time | send the newsletter | no |
Why Is the Data Used?#
No form feeds an advertising profile, and no form data is used to decide what a reader sees on the site.
The three purposes are listed below, each tied to the form that triggers it.
- Answer a message or apply a correction. A contact message is read by the editorial team, answered by email and, where it reports an error, used to correct the page it names.
- Pass a quote request to independent providers and suppliers. A program quote or chemical quote request is forwarded only because you asked for a quote.
The purpose of a submission never widens after you send it. A contact message stays a contact message, and the email address in it is not added to any list.
Who Receives a Quote Request?#
A program quote or chemical quote request goes to independent providers and suppliers who can answer it; no other form is shared. The request travels with the fields you entered (Table 1), so a provider of cooling or boiler programs, or a supplier of the chemical you named, can reply to you directly. Contact messages and corrections never leave the editorial team, and the site does not sell form data to anyone.
The site names no lead partner, and we may receive a fee from independent providers and suppliers we introduce. No partner pays for placement in editorial content: the reference pages, tables and values stay the same whether or not a quote request is sent. The full statement of how that fee relates to the reference content is the editorial policy on independence and lead partners, which uses the same words as this page.
Does the Site Use Cookies or Analytics?#
No: WaterTreatmentChemicals.net runs no analytics tool, shows no advertising and sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookie. The site code contains no analytics identifier and no third-party tracking script, so a page view creates no profile of you.
The pages contain no advertising vendor code, and trust pages such as this one never carry advertising. If an analytics tool, an advertising network or any other cookie-setting service is added later, this policy names it and its cookies before it starts, and the date at the top changes with it.
How Long Is Data Kept and How Is It Protected?#
Submissions are stored in the site's own database on its hosting provider, Cloudflare, and are delivered to the editorial team by email.
Only the editorial team reads stored submissions. A quote request also reaches the independent providers or suppliers it was forwarded to, as described above. After 24 months a submission is deleted. A submission can be deleted earlier on request, as the next section explains.
How Can You See, Correct or Delete Your Data?#
Write to the editorial team through the contact form and name the email address you used. To send that request, contact the editorial team or write to editorial@watertreatmentchemicals.net; the email address lets the team find every submission stored under it.
The three choices you have over your stored submissions are listed below.
- See: ask for a copy of every submission stored under your email address, with its source page and time.
- Correct: ask for a wrong field, such as a misspelled company name or an outdated email address, to be corrected.
- Delete: ask for every submission under your email address to be deleted before the 24-month retention period ends.
A request about a quote that has already been forwarded covers the copy stored by the site; the independent providers and suppliers who received the request handle their own copy.
Changes to This Privacy Policy#
When the policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Who publishes and runs the site is described on the page about WaterTreatmentChemicals.net, and questions about this policy go to editorial@watertreatmentchemicals.net.
